In early September I travelled to the other side of the world to spend 10 days completely alone on a desert island. All I took with me onto the island was a machete, a small knife and a firelighting flint.. the rest was up to me.
I covered my experience using my Panasonic TM900 camera with a Rode videomic and a GoPro Hero 3 White to cover my experience. I shot at 1080p/50fps on the Panasonic and 1080p/30fps on the GoPro.
The film I made wasn't the film I initially expected to end up with, however I think this was to be expected as I was doing something I had no experience of doing in a place I had never been to.
Overall the desert island experience was amazing, though it's not something I will be repeating any time soon and I think the film reflects my experience in an enjoyable, entertaining way.
Here is the poster for the finished documentary 'Off the Grid: A Desert Island Challenge'.
